Cancun is a pretty unique place to visit, it is said that people either love it or hate it, but it is possible to do both. Glitzy meets tack with huge hotels lining the beach offering four or five star facilities. However, once people set foot outside the door they find large theme style restaurants and hundreds of trashy gift shops.
Tickets for Coco Bongos
Finding Coco Bongos is not a problem as everyone knows it and will be able to give directions. It is located in the hotel zone at the Plaza Forum Mall, where most of the other bars and nightclubs are situated. There are payment options for entering and they vary every night depending on the show type. Most people choose the all inclusive deal which is normally around $50 if paid on the door. Look out for the stalls advertising tourist attractions around the malls as they may offer a better deal. If the ticket is issued from a hotel it will cost the door price or slightly more.
Whats included in the price
To some the cover charge may seem expensive but it is worth every dime. Firstly, as is common in Cancun, a wrist band is affixed to the forearm then everyone has their bags searched before ascending the escalator into the club. It starts to rock at 10.30 and the show is non stop until around 4am with the club staying open till 5am.
Free drinks are on offer if the all inclusive ticket has been purchased, this includes beer, wine, spirits and shots. There is a constant array of girls circulating the club offering shots of various spirits albeit the lesser known brands.Coco Bongos mirrors this combination with its glamorous show time appeal whilst offering some party activities similar to those found at a US Spring Break weekend.
Shows, Circus & Comedy
The show choreography is so well done it has everyone transfixed as if in a theatre. One minute an Elvis Impersonator is on stage miming to Jailhouse Rock and the next a group of professional acrobats are flying over the crowd accompanied by amazing light shows. Michael Jackson, Madonna, Mick Jagger, Kiss, Austin Powers, Freddie Mercury and the Matrix have all been impersonated here.
Film footage is added to the show so the dancing and miming is done to a backdrop of footage of the real artist doing the same number. The likeness to the real person does vary from act to act but the crowd sing along as if the original singer was performing. A little bit of culture is thrown in with the occasional ballet routine and performances from Broadway musicals. Whilst all this is going on, streamers, confetti, bubbles and balloons are released into the masses.
The atmosphere is electric and of course the all inclusive ticket means most people take advantage of the deal and inhibitions are lost with people strutting their stuff on the centre bar or stage. The bar staff join in with the antics and the crowd get more raucous as the morning progresses. Excellent dancers, glossy acts, great music from the all time greats, endless amounts of alcohol and an ambiance conducive to fun, fun, fun will ensure everyone leaves raving about this top Cancun club, go ahead and try it for size.
