Hotel Has Easy Access to Subway, City Buses, Major Attractions

One of the Hotel Oxford's selling points is its central location. Here is an easy guide to seeing Mexico City from the Oxford:

From Hotel Oxford, the Hidalgo Metro station and Paseo de la Reforma are east. Avenida Insurgentes is the west. The Revolucion Metro station is west on Puente de Alvarado, which is just north of the Ox. They are reference points. Revolucion is on Line 2 (blue), which intersects with north/south Line 3 (green) at Hidalgo.

Plaza Solidaridad, Alameda, Bellas Artes, Latin American tower, Zocalo, National Palace, Metropolitan Cathedra, Templo MayorFoot: east toward Latin American Tower, keep walking. Metro: Revolucion, direction Tasquena ... Bellas Artes, Zocalo stations.

PyramidsMetro: Hidalgo, green, direction Indios Verdes to La Raza. Change to Line 5, yellow, direction Politecnico. Exit Autobuses del Norte. Bus to Teotihuacan (specify ruinas). Go early. Buses run every half-hour.

Chapultepec Park, Zona Rosa, Angel Independence Monument

Foot/pesero: Southwest on Reforma.

Soccer, Xochimilco Botanical GardensMetro: Revolucion to Tasquena. Change to light rail line (separate toll) to Estadio Azteca or Xochimilco.

Plaza GaribaldiFoot: Puente de Alvarado east to Reforma. Northeast on east side of Reforma. Wind around circle, east on Obispo to plaza. Watch out for the pulque.

Bus StationsMetro: (North station) Hidalgo, green, direction Indios Verdes to La Raza. Change to yellow, direction Politecnico. Exit Autobuses del Norte. (South station) Revolucion to Tasquena. (East station) Revolucion, direction Tasqueña to Pino Suarez. Change to pink, direction Pantitlan to San Lazaro. Exit. (West station) Hidalgo, green, direction Universidad to Balderas. Change to pink to Observatorio.

Professional Baseball, Auto Races, Major ConcertsConcerts. Diablos Rojos baseball in Parque Foro Sol (April-September). Hermanos Rodriguez racetrack. Metro: Revolucion, direction, Tasquena. Change to Line 9 (brown) at Chabacano, direction La Paz. Exit Cd. Deportiva.

Horse RacesMetro: Hidalgo, direction Universidad, to Balderas. Change to Line 1 (pink) direction Observatorio. Exit Chapultepec. Catch Hipodromo pesero on Reforma.

Lucha Libre (Pro Wrestling)Metro: (Friday nights, Arena Mexico) Hidalgo, direction Universidad. Exit Balderas. Walk southwest on Chapultepec. South on Dr. Lavista to Arena Mexico. (Tuesday nights, Arena Coliseo) Revolucion, direction Tasquena. Exit Allende. Walk north on Republica de Chile to Republica de Peru.

Plaza Mexico BullfightsMetro: Hidalgo, green, direction Universidad to Balderas. Change to pink, direction Observatorio to Tacubaya. Change to Line 7, orange, direction Barranca del Muerto. Exit San Antonio.

Roma/Condesa

Foot/pesero: Walk west Puente de Alvarado to Insurgentes, take pesero south. Condesa on west side, Roma on east.

Coyoacan, San AngelMetro: Hidalgo, green, direction Universidad. Exit Coyoacan (Leon Trotsky, Frida Kahlo museums) or Miguel Angel de Quevedo (Diego Rivera/Kahlo Casa Azul, more).

La MercedMetro: Revolucion, direction Tasquena, to Pino Suarez. Change to Line 1, pink, direction Pantitlan, to Merced.
