The tropical weather, nice beaches, and beautiful scenery make Los Cabos , Mexico a popular vacation spot. Los Cabos has become a popular area for vacationers and prices have escalated due to the increased popularity. Traveling to the region in the off-season (May-November) will allow visitors to enjoy their vacation with fewer crowds and lower hotel costs, while still enjoying the weather. Location of Los CabosLos Cabos, Mexico is located on the southern most tip of the Baja Peninsula, a thin strip of land nestled between the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean. Los Cabos consists of a region that includes Cabo San Lucas and San Jose Del Cabo with a desert coastal highway, called the corridor, which connects the two towns. Los Cabos can be reached by plane in less than 2 hours from San Diego, California. Weather in Los CabosThe weather in Los Cabos includes over 360 days of sunshine with highs in the 90s in the summer and 70s in the winter. The Fall season offers even more deals and less crowds due to lack of summer traveler’s. While at this time of year it is cooler that the sweltering summers, most days are still well into the 80s and 90s. Things to Do in Los CabosThere is a multitude of activities to do in the Los Cabos region and in the off-season, there will be less people on the beaches, golf courses, and surrounding mountains. Los Cabos is known for Jack Nicklaus built golf courses, marlin fishing, and surfing. Other activities include snorkeling, scuba diving, ATV excursions, horse back riding on the beach, off-roading in the rugged mountains, and kayaking. For those interested in relaxing, there is the option for lounging at the pool or beach with a book or going to a spa for some pampering. The Sleepy Town of San Jose Del CaboSan Jose Del Cabo is an old-world, historic village that is quieter and typically less crowed than Cabo San Lucas. The downtown is set away from the beaches, with small shops to browse and quaint restaurants which fish tacos on the menu. The hotels in the town are modest and charming. There are many hotels along the beaches that offer off-season rates and beautiful views of the Sea of Cortez. The More Lively Town of Cabo San LucasCabo San Lucas is a livelier, party town and has many bars and restaurants that attract a younger crowd. Many tourists visit Sammy Hagar’s famous Cabo Wabo Cantina to consume tequila shots, margaritas, or some local cuisine. Hagar’s Birthday Bash takes place in October at the cantina. Hotels in Cabo San Lucas are more glamorous and pricier, but less expensive in the off-season. The marina and harbor here is packed with luxurious yachts and expensive, touristy restaurants. Both towns and the surrounding corridor in Los Cabos offer a variety of activities, restaurants to eat, bars to drink, and beaches to enjoy. The region has something for everyone and the year-round warm weather makes the off-season appealing.
